Welcome to The Homepage of the National Adjutancy

The term, Adjutant, is borrowed from military vocabulary which means “A staff officer acting as a general assistant to a commanding office” and “a staff officer in charge of and responsible for official correspondence except combat orders, personnel records, etc.” and “one who assists or helps.”

The men and women appointed to this office are those of willing heart and who realize the value of serving religious leadership.

From the Desk of the General

Dear Fellow Laborer:

In a few days, we will be in the midst of our International Holy Convocation. I need your support as we together will serve our Presiding Bishop, Bishop Charles E. Blake. Our Winter Academy willl be held at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Wednesday, November 4th and will end on Saturday, November 7th. On-site registration will begin Tuesday, November 3rd at 9am and will be open each day thereafter. You only need to register once per year.

Make every effort to attend our 2009 Adjutancy Celebration Luncheon. This event is for us by us, and will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 12:00 NOON at the Downtown Marriott – Heritage Room. The cost for this event is $60.00 and I am encouraging you to attend. You may purchase your tickets for this event online, at www.cogicadjutancy.org or when you arrive at the Convocation.

Adjutant Overseers, you will be needed now more than ever. On Tuesday, November 3rd, the opening ceremony of our convocation will take place in Mason Temple. We will need roughly 70 to 80 adjutants dressed in the “Class B” attire to assist me with the annointing service. Please call Overseer Robert L. Grimes, Jr. at 813-748-2532 for further instructions.

There has been a tremendous responsibility placed on the adjutancy this year!! I need all of the overseers and adjutants to work directly with me, Senior Deputy Adjutant General Clarence Lewis, III, and Senior Deputy Adjutant General Robert L. Perry, Jr., in every aspect of our work. We will give you further instructions in the Academy as it relates to our service at the venues of Mason Temple, the Cook Convention Center and the Fed Ex Forum. Let us come ready to work!!

In closing, let us pray for the strength of our leader, and pray that each of us will be with one accord as we execute our assignments thereby relieving our leader of any stress while making the 102nd Annual Convocation a success. I look forward to seeing your face, and serving with you!

A Servant of Jesus Christ,

Bishop Matthew Williams
Adjutant General – Church Of God In Christ
