Sequence of Courses
These courses are designed to give maximum flexibility to the Jurisdictional Deans and Jurisdictional Bishops to develop programs that will best serve the needs of their jurisdictions. The courses may be taught over a period of time ranging from 2-3 years, depending upon the needs of the jurisdiction. The sequencing of the courses may vary according to the needs of the jurisdiction. The courses in this program are generic; Jurisdictional Dean and Bishops may elect to offer separate courses for laypersons, male and female credential holders. In the spirit of cooperation, we recommend that Jurisdictional Supervisors collaborate in the selection of instructors for the Women in Ministry class. Emphasis must be placed on those matters that are particularly significant to the mission and work of the Women’s Department.

Ordination and Licensing Exams
Licensing and ordination are the sole prerogative of supervisors and bishops. Therefore, these courses and exams are only recommended for the purpose of unifying our training processes.
If the General Assembly, Presiding Bishop & General Board, Board of Bishops, and Women’s Department do adopt this process, it would assist persons who must often move form one jurisdiction to the next before completing their ordination or licensure process.
