Adams A. Edwards
Once in a generation a man is called of God to out above others as a great leader and preacher. Superintendent Adams A. Edwards was born April 14, 1942 in St. Helena Parish to the late Bennie and Missionary Cora Edwards. Superintendent Edwards married Missionary Elsia M. Edwards on February 4, 1962. They are the proud parents of six children, four boys and two girls. In May 1963, Superintendent Adams Edwards was appointed pastor of the St. Rock Church of God In Christ and resides presently. He is not only a gospel preacher, he is also a chosen builder called by God.
In 1979 Superintendent Edwards organized and built the Osceola Church of God In Christ. He served as shepherd over the Church until 1997. At this time, he resigned as pastor and favored one of his sons in the gospel, Elder Harris Reams,Jr. as pastor. He has built four churches in Eastern Louisiana Third Jurisdiction.
Superintendent Edwards was appointed Pastor of the Greater Gloryland Church Of God In Christ, Walker, Louisiana in October 1982 and presently resides. He is committed to serve the Lord with his many talents. His commitment is motivated by his sense of dedication to the divine call. With an eagerness to educate others concerning God s Word. Superintendent Adams Edwards has established the Charles Harrison Bible Institute at Greater Gloryland.
Superintendent Edwards possesses the personification of selfishness. He responsible for instituting several programs for the betterment of humanity in the community. Such as feeding the community, the Big Sister Outreach and Tract Ministry. For his consistent and dedicated work, the Lord saw fit to elevate him. Bishop Howard Quillen appointed him as State Sunday School Superintendent of Eastern Louisiana Third Jurisdiction. Presently he serves as a member of the State Sunday School Finance Committee. He has served faithfully in all areas of Sunday School service. He also serves as the Vice-President of the International Sunday School of the Church of God In Christ Worldwide. Superintendent Edwards holds various positions in the National Church. He is Chairman of the AIM Souvenir Book, Chairman of the State Sunday School Superintendent Council of the International Sunday School and Sunday School Superintendent of Eastern Louisiana Third. Superintendent Edwards, a servant of God, with a vision to up build the Kingdom of God by presenting Jesus Christ to many souls.
He is revered today as one of the heroes of our faith. Wherever he travels he witness for our Lord and Savior.
