International SS Field Representative
I. Introduction
In order to implement your duties as Jurisdictional Field Representatives, you must know who you are and what your abilities are. This can be an overwhelming work and we need to understand wherein our limitations lie. Know that you are not alone. It is important to glean from one another for strength and support.
II. The Role of the Jurisdictional Field Representative
A. The Jurisdictional Field Representative is the female counterpart of the Superintendent. This role mirrors that of the Supervisor of Women to the Bishop.
B. The Jurisdictional Field Representative should not just be a figure head, but should be totally involved in every aspect of the office.
C. The Jurisdictional Field Representative should be an asset to the Superintendent – whether on the District, State or International level. This person should be alert and skilled in accomplishing any task that is presented.
D. The Jurisdictional Field Representative, though not actually annexed with the Women’s Department, plays an integral part of the structure of the State Supervisor’s cabinet and should conduct themselves in such a manner that their value is unparalleled.
E. The Jurisdictional Field Representative should always carry herself with dignity, charm and gracefulness. They should show good conduct at all times, as well as be faithful to God, family and themselves. The Field Representative should never let her good be evil spoken of. Her integrity should be above reproach.
III. Job Description for The Jurisdictional Field Representative
The term “Field Representative” conveys the idea of one who assists. It is to be recognized, therefore, that this person works directly with the superintendent and is his female counterpart in the Sunday School Department.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Jurisdictional Field Representative should be capable of taking charge of any general assemblies when the Superintendent is absent (whether District, State or Jurisdictional). Her duties include, but are not limited to, working with the Superintendent in matters in which she is asked to participate, attending all aggregations and call meetings, staying on top of Sunday School activities through a consistent reading or program of study and attending conventions, workshops and seminars.
She is the direct supervisor of the courtesy lady, music coordinator, pageant chairperson and the registration process. She should also be able to effectively tour her Jurisdiction and make periodic visits to local Sunday Schools, and should become aware of needs and progress made.
Remember that the Jurisdictional Field Representative is the epitome of courtesy and displays enthusiasm in the work of the Local, District and Jurisdictional Sunday School.
