In direct response to President Barack Obama’s public statement of support for same sex marriage, the Church of God in Christ, Inc.(COGIC), reiterates its position on same sex marriage. The General Assembly of the Church of God in Christ, adopted a position statement on April 13, 2004. Our belief remains unchanged.

Under the direction of the Financial Secretary’s Office, the Cash Receipts Administrator is responsible for the daily cash receivables, receipting, credit/bank debit card processing, cash reconciliations and other duties assigned, as deemed necessary. This position has an integral role in the Financial Secretary’s Office for accuracy.

This appointment will enhance the COGIC Office of Convention Planning by employing an industry expert to manage the daily operations, contract negotiations and logistics for events. The concept of the COGIC Publishing Board Scholarship of Abundance is that up to five college students would be awarded a scholarship during the summer of 2012 to work for a period of up to seven weeks in local church youth activities. The selection will be based on written proposals.

Although voters will be at the polls deciding the United States presidential election of 2012 on Tuesday, November 6, thousands of saints who are registered voters will be attending the Holy Convocation of the Church Of God In Christ, convening November 5-12, in St. Louis, Missouri. This communiqué is to encourage the saints to vote absentee ballot. To this end, The General Board and I have launched a project entitled, The Presiding Bishop’s Absentee Ballot Initiative – An Episcopal Call to Political Responsibility.
