Some people need to grow up and realize no matter where our convocation is held it's still going to be the Church of God in Christ. It's not the venue that makes the services great, I was blessed to attend under the late Bishop J.O. Patterson, L. H. Ford (the best years of COGIC in my life), C.D. Owens, G.E. Patterson and now C.E. Blake and things have changed. The people definitely don't rejoice as much as they used to. They play the dancing music but maybe 10% of the people are actually dancing. The music ministry has definitely taken a turn for the worst. The music selections were horrible this past Convocation. I love Dr. Clark, but Madam Luvonia took over it seemed like the choir just really carried the services in Cook Convention. Anyway, I'm just praying for our church. I love what Bishop Blake is doing and change is good...it just would be nice to really experience a breakout revival in our convocation. I remember one service when the spirit leaped on the Bishop L. H. Ford and he jumped out of his chair and started dancing and the next thing you know it spreaded across the whole convention center.

I live in Memphis, and even i see whats the problem is. I will be more than glad for the move. Maybe i can get my Great Aunt Pearl (bed ridden for 7 years) The opportunity to experience the C.O.G.I.C. way. I see great things on the horizon for this church.

But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.
In1945, Bishop Mason was able to visualize the culmination of his dream. He dedicated the Mason Temple at Memphis, Tennessee which was built for less than $400,000 during World War II. This auditorium became the largest convention hall owned by any colored religious group in America.

Under Bishop Mason’s spiritual and apostolic direction our church has grown from ten congregations in 1907, to the largest Pentecostal group in America. The membership of the Church of God in Christ grew from three million in 1973 to an estimated 5.2 million in 1997.

Churches under the parent body in Memphis, Tennessee, are now established throughout the United States, on every continent, and in many of the islands of the sea.
What happen to the church today. Look at your history the Lord has always provide a place of worship.
It is sad the leaders today don’t have the same faith Bishop Mason had.
Where is the Vision. What happen to the Church leaders providing a house called Holiness unto the Lord, A House of Prayer, The Church. Instead we are looking for venues not own by the church but venues owned by the Hindus, worshiping many gods most burning incenses to their gods then we go in and call it holy unto our one true God. It time for the saints of God to stop worshiping God, Christ while battling other unknown spirits. I say it time for the saint to stop going in praying and making the dragon richer while the saints are remaining poor. We need to take our rightful place and build the Lord a house that can be dedicated to his use only just imaging what The Holy Convocation would be like if we had a place called holiness unto the Lord. I believe you can own your own hotels and convention center larger enough to handle the world larges holy convocation. Can you imagine the Holy Ghost present that would be in this place.
Build the Lord a convention center in Memphis and show the world they cannot dictate to the saints of God.
The word of Lord to the Church
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
You can do it.

Honestly, I think it is an an EXCELLENT move. Change produces growth. Tradition stagnates us. I hope we take it to the streets and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ like never before. CRIME in MEMPHIS got HORRIBLE even though we were there every year. WE LOVE you Pre. Bishop Blake! God is with you.
