sub-purpose

As the Church of God in Christ approaches HOLY CONVOCATION, the need to INTERCEDE and SEEK the will of God for Revival, Renewal, Breakthrough and Excellence in Ministry during the HOLY CONVOCATION is VITAL, CENTRAL AND URGENT.

sub-11petitions

sub-renewal

YOUR WORD declares in Philippians4:8:  “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”  LORD, You have instructed us to be renewed in our minds.  We ask of thee O Lord, for Your Spirit’s power to renew our thoughts, our hope, and our pursuit of Your will for our lives.  We bind the forces of darkness in the interest of Your Light.  We reject every negative word that tampers with the power of YOUR will in the convocation.  We bind the untamed tongue of negativity and focus our interests on the Kingdom agenda that glorifies You, edifies the Believer, and evangelizes the world.

sub-transformation

The Bible declares:  Praying in faith moves YOUR heart O GodFather God, help Your people not to render the behavior and customs of this world.  Instead, transform us into a new person by YOUR WORD and YOUR HOLY SPIRIT. Help us to know and understand what You want us to do. We pray that we are not conformed to this world but that we are transformed (Romans 12:1-2).   We pray that the Spirit of God transforms every person’s mind that attends the Holy Convocation, as the old life has passed away and the new life is within us.

sub-salvation

Lord, Your WORD declares:  You love humanity so YOU gave the gift of YOUR son Jesus, who became the price for our salvation and who redeemed us through the shedding of HIS blood.  Lord, You commissioned us to go into all the world and present the Good News that Jesus saves.  Thank you God for boldness so that whenever I open my mouth, I may fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel to the world. I pray that we may be active in sharing our faith throughout this Holy Convocation, so that sinners will have a full understanding of every good thing that the Saints of God have in Christ.

sub-witness

The Bible declares:  “[We] are the light of the world; a city set on a hill that cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14). Your WORD tells us that after the Holy Ghost shall come upon us, we shall be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world (Acts 1:8).  Lord, honor our earnest efforts in St. Louis to be witnesses by precept and example before hotel, retail, convention center, restaurant employees, and everyone we may encounter as guests of the Holy Convocation, as we journey to and from worship and Kingdom events.  May the light of our example influence the decision of observers to become disciples for YOU.

sub-order

The Bible declares:  “But covet earnestly the best gifts, and yet shew I unto You a more excellent way”  (1 Cor. 12:31).  We seek order and excellence in all that we do to Your glory and honor.  We ask for Your divine wisdom and impartation of direction so that our steps are “ordered by You.” Your word tells us to acknowledge You in all of our ways and You will direct our paths (Prov. 3:6).  As we engage every aspect of Kingdom business, we will forever be reminded that we are stewards, and therefore managers of divine opportunities to glorify Your holy name in all we do.  We know we can do nothing without You.  We also know that all things are possible with YOU.

sub-discernment

The Bible declares:  Lord, grant us clarity of thought and action in every way that we can defer to You.  As YOUR presence moves in our midst, grant us the comfort of fully yielding to the work of YOUR Spirit.  We yield to Your way and grant full access to the gifts of Your Spirit as You seek to edify the Saints.  Grant us full obedience and persuasion to “let go” and “let YOU” have YOUR way in the 104 Holy Convocation.

sub-stlouis

The Bible declares:  As Jesus mourned over the plight of Jerusalem, we mourn over the cities of the nation and the world.  Lord, grant us the effectual and fervent witness of Your presence in our lives so that we may intercede for the safety, prosperity and tranquility of St. Louis.  May Your hand of protection grant the people and leadership of St. Louis both prosperity and peace.  We rebuke, denounce and bind the forces of darkness that bring destruction, devastation and dismay to the metropolitan area of St. Louis.  We pray for families, teachers, faith communities, police officers, elected officials, commerce and cultural venues.  We ask for Your divine intervention over all and of the continued benefits that are derived from a great God.

sub-stewardship

The Bible declares:  We are to be faithful over the things that God has assigned to our hands. Almighty God, we thank You for all of the gifts You have given us, our lives and our loved ones. Most of all, we thank You for Jesus, Your Son and our Redeemer, who came to show us the way to eternal life. For we all want to hear well done thou good and faithful servant.  Christ, YOU are the perfect steward of Your bounty.  Show us that complete trust in You is needed in times like these.  Your word says in Proverbs 11:25, “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” Your WORD tells us to “cast our bread upon the waters and it will return many days hence” (Ecclesiastes 11:1).  Grant us obedience to scripture and not just pulpit appeal.  You have told us to give and shall be given back to us, pressed down, shaken together and running over.  For the benefit of a great personal harvest, open our hearts and our minds to “seed into” the Holy Convocation with our time, our talents and resources in the same spirit of sacrifice that Jesus taught us by His life and death for the sake of salvation.

sub-worship

The Bible declares:  There is power in our words.  Lord, give us the unction of a powerful, fervent and determined, praying spirit.  Help us to be thankful in all circumstances, for this is YOUR will toward those who belong to Christ Jesus.  Ensure our understanding, by the quickening of Your Spirit, that to worship is to ascribe the highest and the best we can exert from our mind, heart and body. Grant us the willingness to humble ourselves in worship and bow down.  We will kneel before You O LORD our Maker, knowing that it is YOU alone who is worthy. We are YOUR people and the sheep of YOUR pasture. So we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of GOD and pray that this Holy Convocation will be filled with Your Holy Spirit; our souls will be as well; and  the City of St. Louis will be truly transformed by the Shekinah Glory like never before.

sub-leadership

YOUR WORD declares:  First of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men.  We pray for Chief Apostle Charles E. Blake and the first family, the General Board and their families; officers, both elected and appointed, because it is Your will and Your way for us to do so. Jesus, You are the author and finisher of our faith.  We pray that You will make the crooked places straight, giving us water in dry places, making our foundations plain, leading and guiding us into all truth.  We thank You in advance for their endowment of spiritual power that ushers in a breakthrough, a mighty anointing, wisdom from above, and the successful execution of the Holy Convocation. And it is so, in Jesus’ Name.

sub-president

YOUR WORD declares:  We should pray for those who are in authority. We pray now for kings, national rulers and for all who are in authority Heavenly Father.  I give thanks for our government and I pray for all men and women having authority over us in any way. Pour out Your Spirit upon them and make Your Word known to them, causing them to be men and women of integrity and obedience, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, in all godliness and honesty. Make our hearts and ears attentive to godly counsel, doing what is right in Your sight. Your word says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water:  he turneth it whithersoever he will” (Proverbs 21:1).  Give President Barack Obama, the United States Congress, Supreme Court and other world leaders, a touch of Your grace that banishes the darkness of our times and elevates Your name above all other names.   Bring clarity to those who are in authority that economic prosperity is granted to those who understand that if God can get it through us, HE will also give it to us!  Amen.
