Chaplain Manager

Chaplain Eddie Conner, Staff Chaplain at Methodist Healthcare South Hospital was honored for obtaining his Board Certified Chaplain certificate. It was awarded by the Association of Professional Chaplains during the Spiritual Care Collaborative Summit ’09 conference last month. Chaplains are eligible to pursue board certification following completion of advanced degree work and a rigorous program that prepares them to serve as chaplains in institutional settings. Board Certification represents a high level of commitment and achievement, as well as recognition by one’s peers and the board of directors.

Chaplain Conner also serves as Pastor of the Higher Hope Church Of God In Christ, in Senatobia, MS. He continues to promote chaplaincy by integrating his ministry into the greater Memphis community. Recently on May 29, 2009 Chaplain Conner presented a class at World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church as part of their “Season of Prevention-Healthy Churches Building Healthy Communities” Seminar. The class taught by Chaplain Conner, “Caring for the Caregiver (Caring for yourself) was part of a larger program presented by Methodist Healthcare. Chaplain Conner also participates in the CHN (Congregational Health Network) also sponsored by Methodist Healthcare System.
